James Fett
 AREAS OF PRACTICE: employment discrimination and wrongful termination, employment and consumer class actions, alternative dispute resolution, commercial litigation and personal injury law.
EDUCATION: Jim Fett is an honors graduate from the University of Michigan of Dearborn, graduating with highest distinction in 1982. He received his Law and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the University of Michigan in 1986.
AFFILIATIONS: Jim began his career with a management employment law firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He later joined a practice in Ypsilanti, Michigan which eventually became Muth & Fett, P.C. In 1994 Jim formed the law firm of Malley & Fett, P.C. in Ann Arbor. Jim founded this firm in 1999 and moved his practice to Pinckney, Michigan.
TRIAL AND APPELLATE EXPERIENCE: Jim has appeared before courts throughout the state and has tried cases for over 18 years in both state and federal courts. He has argued appeals before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati.
HONORS: In 1996 Jim was honored as the Washtenaw Trial Lawyers Association Lawyer of the Year for his success in representing individuals victimized by employment discrimination. Michigan Lawyers Weekly named Jim one of the ten most outstanding attorneys for the Year 2000. United States Representative John Conyers awarded Jim the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition in February of 2001 for his "dedication in the protection of civil and human rights of all citizens, regardless of their ethnic origin or socio-economic background." Finally, Jim was inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum which recognizes exceptional skill, experience and excellence in advocacy as demonstrated by achieving a trial verdict or judgment in the amount of $1 million dollars or more, a feat he has achieved twice.
SERVICE IN PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS: Jim has served as President of the Washtenaw Trial Lawyers Association and as an executive board member for the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. He has taught trial practice courses for the Michigan Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association and the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
